On December 1st, the Community Foundation of Howard County’s Casey and Pebble Willis Making a Difference Award was presented to Dave Piligian, Crosswalk Lutheran Church, for his volunteer work at Phelps Luck Elementary School.
The award was presented on December 1st as part of A-OK’s “Assist Our Kids” event, which was held at Universities Space Research Association in Columbia, to recognize and celebrate the exemplary efforts of volunteer mentors and organizations in Howard County.

Service Above Self Award
November 2014
The Service Above Self Award presented by The Rotary Club of Columbia/Patuxent to Chaya Kaplan, Executive Director, A-OK. The award came with a check for $5000 to go to the nonprofit of her choice, i.e. A-OK Mentoring - Tutoring, Inc.. The donation to A-OK is being used to enrich the student-mentoring relationships with books, games, puzzles, and other learning materials.
